Invest in North Brevard

April 15, 2014

Since it's "Tax Day" across America, it seems fitting to consider what else you can do with your hard-earned dollars, besides sending them to Uncle Sam. For one - if you're a business owner - you can invest in North Brevard.  And here's why that makes sense:

1. The talent pool.  Thanks in large part to the presence of NASA (which remains one of the area's largest employers) North Brevard is home to a high concentration of technical and skilled labor.  In fact, there are more engineers working in Brevard County than anywhere else in Florida.

2. An excellent quality of life.  This is Florida, after all, where the average mean temperature year-round is 70 degrees.  Close to the world's greatest entertainment venue for all ages - from Disney to Univeral in nearby Orlando - along with an abundance of natural wildlife getaways, and one of the state's highest performing school systems (Brevard County Schools), Brevard is a great place to call home.

3. Part of the growing Central Florida market.  Florida is the third-fastest growing state in the Union.  And Central Florida, stretching 75 miles from Tampa to Titusville, now has more than 8 million people living and working in the region.

Those are compelling reasons to invest here.  But don't just take our word for it.  Considering recent Federal support for facility improvements at nearby Port Canaveral, it looks like even Uncle Sam is prepared to invest in North Brevard.

Questions about incentives for locating or starting a business in North Brevard?

Created in July 2011 by the Brevard County (Florida) Board of Commissioners, the North Brevard Economic Development Zone (NBEDZ) or "Zone," is a special dependent district under Florida Statute, Chapters 125 and 189.  The Zone was formed with the goal of facilitating job growth and economic development in the northern part of Brevard County following the end of NASA's Space Shuttle program.  In that regard, the Zone seeks to provide financial assistance to businesses prepared to make a substantial capital investment in the area and create a significant number of new jobs.
